Who we are

In my first 25 years in business my partner and I created a successful international niche manufacturing company. We were smart! We were crushing it! And we were having fun! The problem? The company was our life. We never tried to imagine a world after the here and now. And so we left significant value locked up in the enterprise that we could have captured for our future if we had started preparing early.

That experience taught me that it's hard for business and professional people to step back from daily pursuits to prepare strategically and realistically for an unknown future. Also, that you can't do it alone: you need a trusted, dispassionate professional to help you make it a priority–someone ask the right questions to uncover your dreams and fears, as well as the key details of your unique situation.

My mission is to make sure you have a strategy so you don't make the same mistakes I did. My clients tell me they feel more confident, have more options, and sleep better at night. I ask a lot of questions that require honest and thoughtful answers. Working with me takes time and commitment. But I promise you: the value of knowing where you are headed, and of having a strategy that can respond to a changing world, is well worth the effort.

About me

Long and varied experience in management, innovation, and research has given me a vast toolkit of insight on money and strategy. I understand small business owners' concerns because I have walked many miles in their shoes.

After taking my degree at Cambridge University in England, I moved to The Netherlands for graduate study in music, and then to the U.S., where I co-founded an international musical instrument making company and became a citizen.

During 25 years in the musical instrument business I published prizewinning research in music and sociology and earned a Ph.D. from Cambridge. I later held business development positions with full budgetary and legal responsibility in the rapidly changing publishing industry.

As well as being insurance licensed by New York, Alabama, California (CA Insurance Lic. #4047106), Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Washington, and in addition to holding a securities registration with FINRA, I am authorized to offer life insurance from New York Life to AARP members. I am Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) to be able to address this crucial aspect of retirement planning.
